Officially, the 2nd set has begun This blog going forward will log our journey undergoing a second double-lungtransplant. This will serve as a blog to allow our families, friends, others interested to learn about experiencing a double-lung transplant a second time! Due to early chronic failure of the first lungs. The same hopeful attitude will be present, but the tone of excitement and energy is lost. Instead we understand and accept how much is out of our control.

Wow! That is so amazing. I'm sooooo happy for you guys!
Make sure when you move to Nelson (probably Friday) that you blow off the wheel chair and walk. It will be the best walk you've taken in a long time. Great progress! Right on target.
Ian

Well guys, NO MORE "Waiting for the time when YOU can finally say, this has all been wonderful and now I'm on my way..."
You are on your way now to a fantastic future!
Prayers have been answered and there is no looking back.
What strength has Mitch shown all of us and what a fantastic role model to Simon and Matias. And Rebecca, you are a true Guardian Angel.
You are trully blessed and, thanks to you, all of us that have had the privilege of being part of this journey and learn so much about life during the process.
Our love to all always,
Jeff & Lizca.
This is awesome. Mitch keep it up.

You'll be running a 4.4 40 before you know it.
This is just so incredible! We are thinking of you every moment and sending so much love and support your way. Keep it up...can't wait to go hiking with you in the Rocky Mountains! xoxo, Jamie, Devo and Chloe
You can't imagine how unbelievable it was to see Mitch walking. You can really tell Mitch's sense of strength and courage as they were preparing him to make this walk. It took 4 nurses and 30 minutes to unhook all the tubes and get him ready to take this incredible journey. Then just as they were going to stand him up, he said he didn't feel like walking. The look on the nurses faces was priceless! Then Mitch said "Just kidding!"
I'm just tearing up with joy at every post - great job Mitch!
Bringing tears to my eyes! How wonderful!! Go Mitch go!! Gotta get ready for the gators this weekend :)
Ha ha ha, I wish I was still there to see the look on those nurses faces. Talk about about the right attitude, strength and courage. You're the man, Mitch! And same to you Rebecca, you're a rock. And those doctors--what an amazing thing they have going on down there. Chapel Hill rocks! Filip is excited to go skiing with you real soon! Love you both, L
